Major Steering and Suspension Improvements

One of the biggest concerns with this Bronco was severe bump steer. As the suspension cycled, the steering wheel would pull left and right, creating an unpredictable driving experience. Combined with front brake drag and concerns regarding the rear locker, the vehicle required a comprehensive evaluation of its suspension and steering systems.

Our team recommended upgrading the track bar system with a heavy-duty adjustable track bar, rebuilding and reinforcing the frame-side bracket, correcting hardware issues on the radius arms, and installing front and rear sway bars to improve stability both on and off the road.

Electrical Restoration for Reliability

During inspection, we found that the Bronco's wiring system was showing its age. Brittle connectors, sun-damaged wiring, and outdated electrical components can lead to reliability issues and safety concerns in vintage vehicles.

To ensure long-term dependability, we recommended a complete vehicle rewire using the American Autowire Classic Update Kit designed specifically for 1966-1977 Ford Broncos. This upgrade modernizes the electrical system while maintaining the classic appearance of the vehicle.

Interior and Dash Upgrades

The owner also wanted several custom interior improvements. The dash panel was removed, refinished, and painted, while the glove box and ashtray were refinished to match. Modifications were planned to allow the glove box to function properly with the existing roll cage while making room for future audio upgrades.

Due to the cage design, removal of the roll cage was necessary to properly access and modify the dash components.

Air Conditioning Diagnosis

Living in Texas means air conditioning is a must. During diagnostics, our technicians found the under-dash evaporator was not receiving power. After supplying power directly for testing, the system activated and produced cold air. Further inspection revealed low refrigerant levels and a possible restriction within the receiver drier.

Additional repairs were recommended to restore proper cooling performance and improve system reliability.

Preparing for Custom Styling Upgrades

In addition to the mechanical improvements, this Bronco is being prepared for a new wheel and tire package featuring 35-37 inch tires. Our team also designed custom fabricated bumpers using heavy-duty 2x4 box tubing with chamfered ends for a rugged, purpose-built appearance.

Additional upgrades included hood refinishing, water pump replacement, rear leaf spring installation, and correcting several issues left unresolved from previous work.
