1968 Ford F-250 Gets a Complete Tune-Up, Brake Restoration, and Drivability Refresh

Mr. Schreiber brought his 1968 Ford F-250 to Texas Vintage Trucks with one clear goal: make it run, ride, and stop. Like many classic trucks that have spent decades on the road, this F-250 had developed several age-related issues that affected its reliability and overall driving experience. The engine would crank but wouldn't start consistently, the carburetor was leaking fuel, the ignition system was showing its age, and the brake and suspension systems needed attention.

Restoring Reliable Engine Performance

The main issue was inconsistent starting caused by fuel delivery and ignition wear. After replacing the fuel pump, rebuilding the carburetor, and refreshing ignition components, the engine now starts reliably and runs smoother.

Complete Brake System Restoration

Both front and rear drum brakes were fully rebuilt and serviced, restoring safe and confident stopping power. A full brake system flush ensured clean hydraulic operation.

Suspension Refresh

New KYB shocks improved ride quality and stability, bringing the suspension back to a controlled and comfortable driving experience.
